Atascadero Recreation is NOW Accepting Contract Class & Advertisement Applications for Spring 2026!
The City of Atascadero would like to invite new and returning Contract Instructors to partner up with our Recreation Team to offer an array of activities and classes to our local community. Classes & activities can be held at different City facilities around the community or at our parks. The City of Atascadero’s Community Services Department is now accepting band applications for the upcoming 2026 “Saturday in the Park” Summer Concert Series. We’re excited to announce that it’s time to get our bands in place for the 23rd annual Summer Concert Series. The Central Coast Zoo is pleased to announce Holiday Magic on Saturday, December 20th, from 10 am until 1 pm! The zookeepers will present gifts for the animals and Santa will be on-site to welcome our visitors! Our scheduled gift delivery for the animals begins at 10 am and goes until 1 pm! Over 70 tons of snow on the Central Coast is on its way! Winter Wonderland is back for another exciting snow driven event in Downtown Atascadero on Friday, December 12th from 5-9 pm. The Atascadero Police Department announced today that it has received a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) to support its ongoing enforcement and education programs to help reduce the number of serious injuries and deaths on our roads. Atascadero Police Department Makes Additional Arrests in Gang-Related Assault Investigation
Detectives with the Atascadero Police Department have made several additional arrests connected to a gang-related assault and robbery that occurred earlier this year at the Centennial Bridge. On August 30, 2025, at approximately 1:40 a.m., Atascadero Police Dispatch personnel observed a fight in progress on live surveillance cameras in the Centennial Bridge area.
