Request for Qualifications for Development of the Centennial Plaza Lots
The City of Atascadero is excited to announce a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the Centennial Plaza Lots at 5901 East Mall. This is a rare opportunity to develop unlimited business potential in one of Downtown Atascadero’s prime, bustling locations for restaurant, retail, entertainment, with room for office and residential opportunities on upper floors. The City is eagerly inviting developers to submit qualifications to purchase and develop this surplus land near Atascadero Creek and City Hall.
The Centennial Plaza Lots are vacant sites in the heart of the Downtown Commercial Zone, located on East Mall, directly adjacent to historic City Hall, and bookending Centennial Plaza, a short distance from Atascadero Creek and adjacent to the Sunken Gardens, where numerous events occur year-round. The Centennial Plaza Lots span the area between a City-owned public parking lot, East Mall Avenue, and a pathway that parallels Atascadero Creek. The first lot is 75 feet wide and 100 feet deep, northeast of Centennial Plaza. The second lot is 25 feet wide and 100 feet deep, on the southwest side of Centennial Plaza. Other adjacent properties are privately owned but could be sought by a developer for purchase as part of this endeavor.
The City is asking interested parties to submit their qualifications and interest. Qualified applicants will be invited to submit a complete, conceptual development proposal, and the City will even assist in funding the completion of conceptual development plans.
