City of Atascadero Improves Pedestrian Accessibility Near Intersection of El Camino Real & Santa Rosa Road

The City of Atascadero is scheduled to begin work on the Community Development Block Grant Santa Rosa Road Accessibility Project. This project includes the repair and modification of sidewalk, curb, ADA ramps, and railings on Santa Rosa Road between El Camino Real and Highway 101, as well as pavement repair for 400’ of Santa Rosa Road.
This project is an important improvement to the City’s pedestrian accessibility network, repairing several facilities that have been damaged or needed upgrades to comply with modern accessibility standards. Construction is anticipated to begin on March 18th and completed in May of 2025. The project contractor is Souza Construction.
- Traffic will be maintained in both directions during construction, but travel lanes will be shifted to the south side of Santa Rosa Road for the duration of the project
- Sidewalk on Santa Rosa Road will be closed for the duration of the project
Drivers are encouraged to pay close attention to traffic signage and plan for traffic delays near construction areas.
