Bernards is working closely with City Staff in preparation for putting the first bid packages out to bid on the project. The entire project has been fenced and a traffic flow plan has been distributed to the local businesses, the school district and student families most affected. The preliminary work to be bid out is part of the Deconstruction Phase of work. This phase of work will include a hazardous mitigation contractor and a concrete foundation work contractor. It is important to get a jump on this work in order to get out ahead of the major work scheduled to begin this spring and early summer. The entire basement non bearing masonry walls and the concrete floor slab will be removed. This will allow for a better investigation of below slab utilities and will help to develop the actual foundation stabilization planning. This work is anticipated to begin in early December.
