City of Atascadero Presents the 9th ANNUAL Tamale Festival! Friday & Saturday, May 2nd & 3rd
The City of Atascadero is pleased to announce the 9th Annual Tamale Festival to be held in the Sunken Gardens and Downtown Atascadero on Friday, May 2nd from 5:30 – 8 pm and Saturday, May 3rd from 11 am until 7 pm! The festival will kick off on Friday, May 2nd starting at 5:30 pm until 8 pm with “Fiesta Friday!” Enjoy a variety of Tamale vendors with an opportunity to purchase tamales without the crowds. The Atascadero Police Department will hold a special ceremony to honor the life and heroism of 11-year-old Jose Gutierrez, who tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run accident earlier this year. The event will occur on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the steps to Atascadero City Hall, 6500 Palma Avenue. Registration is NOW OPEN for the Co-ed Youth Volleyball League!
The City of Atascadero is excited to announce that registration for the Co-ed Youth Volleyball League is now OPEN! The City of Atascadero’s Co-ed Youth Volleyball League places emphasis on learning the fundamentals, player participation, teamwork, and fun! Games and practices will be held on Tuesday or Thursday evenings. Practice will begin on June 17th with league games beginning on Tuesday, July 1st. Temporary Detours and Intermittent Closures on El Camino Real, between Hwy. 41 and Traffic Way
To take advantage of reduced school traffic during Spring Break and to lessen the impacts associated with the ECR Project construction, El Camino Real between Hwy. 41 and Traffic Way will have temporary detours and intermittent closures the week of April 14-18. City of Atascadero Announces New Aquatics Program Launching Summer 2025!
The City of Atascadero is excited to announce the approval and upcoming launch of a new Aquatics Program, set to begin in Summer 2025! Approved by City Council, this much anticipated program will provide a variety of recreational swimming and instructional opportunities for the community. Atascadero Fire and Emergency Services would like to share our condolences for the passing of retired Fire Chief, Michael Glenn Hicks who passed peacefully on March 1, 2025, in Wickenburg, Arizona of heart related illness at age 78.
