Atascadero Police Investigate Disturbance Involving Gunshots
On August 2, 2026, at approximately 7:10 pm Atascadero PD received a call of a disturbance involving gunfire in the 9100 block of San Diego Road. Upon arrival, officers and investigators learned that two adult males had been involved in a physical fight inside the residence. During the fight, one of the men produced a handgun and approximately two shots were fired while in close proximity to each other. The City of Atascadero and the Central Coast Zoo are excited to launch a new Coffee Vending Opportunity for local food vendors! Beginning September 1st through the end of the year, the vending program will take place at Atascadero Lake Park Sunday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. This pilot program is designed to offer coffee options to Zoo visitors and parkgoers, providing coffee options that are currently not available.
