DUI Checkpoint - Atascadero Police Department Holding DUI Checkpoint on Friday, August 14, 2026
On August 14th, the Atascadero Police Department will conduct a driving under the influence (DUI) checkpoint on Friday, August 14th from 6 pm to 2 am at an undisclosed location. DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. Atascadero Police Investigate Disturbance Involving Gunshots
On August 2, 2026, at approximately 7:10 pm Atascadero PD received a call of a disturbance involving gunfire in the 9100 block of San Diego Road. Upon arrival, officers and investigators learned that two adult males had been involved in a physical fight inside the residence. During the fight, one of the men produced a handgun and approximately two shots were fired while in close proximity to each other. The City of Atascadero and the Central Coast Zoo are excited to launch a new Coffee Vending Opportunity for local food vendors!
