The Atascadero Police Department will conduct a driving under the influence (DUI) Checkpoint on October 22, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location. In August 2026, Detectives became aware of crimes committed against a minor that occurred in the City of Atascadero. Through the investigation, detectives identified Michael Donovan Cobb Jr, 36 years of Los Angeles as a suspect of the crimes. On October 15, 2026, Atascadero detectives traveled to Los Angeles and arrested Cobb Jr. without incident.
